Tell us a bit about yourself and your running goals to fine tune your plan.

Select the days you want to train on in a typical week:
How long would you like your training plan to last? (4-25 weeks)
  • What is my training philosophy?
My training philosophy is the one that made me and my current athletes win medals at the global stage, but adapted to your level. It is volume and threshold (zone 3) focused. However, don't expect a uniquely developed training method by a random running guru. It's simply the training philosophy that most of the elite (middle-)distance runners apply: robust and effective.
  • Is this training program right for you?
This training program has helped runners of all levels achieve their goals. Whether you would like to run your first 5km, aiming for a sub-36min 10km, or training for your fourth marathon. That said, if you're an elite runner (international level), I suggest going for personal coaching.
  • How do I know this will work for me?
The training philosophy and insights on recovery, nutrition, etc. are the same as those I've shared with a large number of athletes who have achieved new personal bests. Moreover, I apply them in my own daily routine, as they have helped me make the jump from amateur runner to Olympic athlete. There's no better way to achieve your goal than to follow the advice that has helped countless other amateur and elite runners improve significantly.
  • How is this different from other programs that haven't worked for me in the past?
Here's the truth... Many coaches come up with their own training philosophies, seemingly controversial advice, or boast about their coaching certifications. If a coach hasn't had athletes reach elite level, or hasn't raced at elite level themselves before, it's hard to claim their advice really works. Getting an amateur runner to progress is much easier than optimizing the progression of a top level runner who might otherwise plateau. My advice and training philosophy are not ‘special’. They are simply what a large number of world-class runners apply because they work and are effective. Moreover, I have achieved impressive progression curves for many of the athletes I coach.
  • Will I be able to speak to John?
Yes, my aim is to maximize your progress. If you have any questions or need advice on any running related topic, I'm more than happy to help. You can send me a message via the chat function on the online training program, or by email (johnheymans@telenet.be).
  • When I buy your training program, is it a one-time or monthly payment?
It's a one-time payment. You buy the program once and get life-time access. :)
  • Is there one plan per distance or multiple plans?
Right now there is one training plan per distance. However, I often give a couple of chances for my athletes to change their preferences (at the start of the training plan) when it's necessary.
  • How many weeks do the training plans last?
All training plans are 12-weeks long. However, if your goal is nearer, or a couple of weeks further away, I can tune the training plan to make it fit your racing schedule.
